3 Days late on $9.98 Credit Card payment

not sure about the credit report... but you will have a late fee of between $20-35.00 I would ask the to waive that, too.

I think they have better things to do with their time than turn in something as small as this. Take care of it tomorrow and you'll be fine.

Of course, if you don't pay for a significant amount of time, they will report it.

As the above have said, let them know what's up and I'm sure something simple will be worked out. I can't imagine them slamming your credit for something for minor.

I had to buy a suit in a hurry for my grandpas funeral and had to swing in jcpenny. Signed up for the card to get the discount for the day and then completely forgot about the bill and it was sent to my parents house as well. Unfortunately I was late and got the next one when i was home. Called them up to see what they could do, basically they said that it wouldnt be reported unless it was over 60 days late instead of just 30. shouldnt be a problem with my experience.

Most CC companies don't report mildly late payments, but they will happily charge you a late payment fee.

Above post is correct, usually if it's not more then a few days they won't report it as late on your credit report. I had one late payment on accident with BoA, I called and they reversed the late fee also since I have never missed one before. They were nice and by accident refunded my late fee twice, so they paid me to pay late 😛

They usually will tack on a late fee but since that's an automated process, you can get it overrulled by calling in. And no, minor late payments wont hit your credit report.

I think credit reports have only 30, 60, and 90 day lates on them.

Your credit card company might jack your interest rate up by being late. Way up. Get your scanning electron microscope out and look at the fine print.

I highly doubt they will report it to the credit bureaus, but I'm sure they will charge you a heafty late fee.

If I were the CC company, I would definitly report it to your report. A bill, for my discovre card anyway, has 1 month to be payed. If you can't remember to pay a bill within 2 months... you don't deserve a good credit score, imo.

Heh, one time I overdrew one of my Wachovia accounts which has overdraft protection on a credit card. The total amount charged was 25.25 which includes a $25 overage charge. As it was a debit card I don't expect a bill from them, and didn't receive one. 3 months later I get a bill in the mail for ~$350 for a $.25 overage!! This included late fees, interest etc. I called them up and they told me there was no way to undo it and that I would have to pay the balance in full. I finally went into a district branch asked to speak with the manager and told him that I would be closing out ALL of my accounts with wachovia as would my parents. He asked to make a phone call and came back about 15 minutes later and asked me if I would be willing to pay the $25.25. I chalked it up to a lesson learned and had him transfer it from one of my active accounts heh.

Besides, most good credit card companies will automatically wave the late payment fee on your first offense. They did that for me once, when my payment got lost in the mail and arrived a few days late.

jeeezus dude... just call them and make the payment... tell them your mom was sick, and you were busy tending to her aid. You'll be just fine.

And no it won't go on your credit report until it's at LEAST 30 days late.

Generally, cc companies don't report late payments on your credit report until they are 30 days overdue. Just call them up, tell them, and they will be fine.
