A few questions on a fridgid night.
A while ago I read a article and the author stated that he felt the screen and electronics used in a 3-d capable tv are much better then those used in standard high def tv's.
I can understand where this might be true due to the need to process more info.

If I were to buy a 3-d capable tv would the video qality be better and is the circuitry better???

Your thoughts?

for 3d to work on last years models you need a very fast on/off time - otherwise you get 3d ghosting (nasty) - LCD's are terrible with 3d - which is why LG ditched the whole idea and (others) have gone passive as well. read the warning labels on last gen active shutter glasses you will understand.

but yeah on the LG - the phosphor is faster - same with panasonic - this does two specific things - less image retention - less ghosting (in 3d mode) this method of flashing the phosphor faster also causes less brightness (think about the ramp to light 100% brightness and then to ramp it back down - very much like an old school fuel injector).

We should see some really really good 3D innovation in this year's models so we can use theatre like 3D and not have cross-eyed kids or seizure seniors trying to watch avatar.
