my second favorite old school / Pre-FF7 RPG. (first being FF6/3 SNES). i can't wait till they remake all the SNES Final Fantasies in this format.

You can hear the FF cash cow being milked dry by Square, but I have to admit I'll buy anything with the words Final Fantasy on the box

Yeah, I already bought the GBA version and since I'm a sucker for old school FF games, I'll probably buy this too.

the "remake" was a rehash of IV for the GBA, a port if you will (with new texts and some bonus)

this is a remake from 2D into 3D... like Final Fantasy III for the NDS
 
i think they are bringing most of the original rehashes for the GBA to the PSP as well. in higher resolution. FF1 PSP is already out in Japan with English texts as an option

I hope they don't re-use the same look they did for FFIII on the DS. Looked like a bunch of bobble-heads.

Chronotrigger remake anyone? That game would look amazing with a Dragon Quest VIII style of 3D.
 
Whoa. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I just got a DS though, and had been planning on picking up the GBA version, but now I guess I'll wait.
 
This might be a reason for me to buy a toy.

I went to my parents house to dig up my old SNES after playing some super mario at my friends house.
I find the damn thing in shambles and just about all of my original games traded or sold for a bunch of sh!t SNES titles.
The two that were missing, FF2 and FF3, really pissed me off.

That is fantastic news. Too bad it'll take a long time to develop. 🙁 I'm loving Final Fantasy III. I'll probably just play the GBA ports of IV and VI. They ought to release VII on the DS. 😉

Well, they could release an RPG with an entirely different name, or they could release that RPG and call it Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest and sell millions of copies. 😉 It's not like the Final Fantasy games are all directly related, they just have some similar themes.

Now, I do think they should quit releasing a bunch of games in different genres and try tie them all into the Final Fantasy franchise. Makes it a pain to search for the games on eBay.

(They've revived their Mana franchise also)

Not really a remake per se, more like a port. Pretty much the same as the SNES version.
 
the way Squeenix is milking Final Fantasies these days, maybe a FF7 for next-gen (make it come to 360 for the non-japanese markets!) won't be so far off. in fact, they may already be in development in secret.

That one had some major bugs that I have no idea how the developers missed...mostly with the battle system and how the timer/preemptive strikes never worked right. Some characters would go 2 times in a row and some wouldn't get their turn even on a Pre. strike before the enemy goes.

Too many bugs.

i don't see myself buying a PS3, but if FF7 goes there, i am so buying.
 
i bought the PS1 port just to see those 6 extra FMV scenes

i'd probably have an orgasm if they remade Chrono Trigger into a game like Blue Dragon
