3 Computers work since Fr. but I can't see my results

Hi all,

I am kinda new to this but I liked the idea. So last Fr. I downloaded the disk tool of the Borks Website and started putting my babys to work.
However since then (I know it takes about 24hours to show up) I can't find any mention of me when I search for my statistics to join the AnandTeam.

Any ideas?

The e-mail address I used is: karsten@pcpc.net
And that was all I needed to enter as far as I understood.

Any help would be appriciated.

There is a possibility that due to a firewall (or any other reason) your computers do not send blocks to dnet. Can you check this?

Welcome to the team!

Hi there
I am not running a firewall. All I have is a 3Com Office connect LanModem. But that really doesn't do much filtering. It just dials out automaticaly whenever I want to connect to the internet.
The configuration disk I downloaded was for Dial out connections. So whenever it wants new keys it should just connect fine.
Is there anywhere in the client a way to see how much he crunched already... My Dual PIII500's are quite warm now 🙂

Did you download the Standard or Service version of the client? Or did you download the TA CUBE specific disk?

I believe that the Borg's startup disk fetches 500 work units at a time.
Depending on the speed of your CPU, it might not have reached the threshold yet.

Look at your .log file in the dnet dir, and see how many work units are left in your buffers.

I don't have a .log file in my RC5 Directory.

My .ini says the following:

[buffers]
checkpoint-filename=cp

[rc5]
preferred-blocksize=33
fetch-workunit-threshold=2000
randomprefix=177

[networking]
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=proxy.teamanandtech.com
dialup-watcher=active

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0

[triggers]
restart-on-config-file-change=yes

[parameters]
id=karsten@pcpc.net

Is there anything else I can check... like a command key within the program where it shows how many work units are left?

I will shut the computers down if I don't find an answer for this tonight... no sense in running up the heat in my room for nothing. 🙁

Add the lines:

[logging]
log-file-limit=100KB
log-file=rc5.log
log-file-type=fifo

To the bottom of your dnetc.ini file.
( that's where it is on mine)

Your client is already set to restart on a .ini change, so it should be automatic.

You can link the rc5.log file to your desktop, by draging it over there and creating a shortcut.

Karsten,

Jinson is correct. You will need to manually flush in order to be in Dnet's database. The pre-configured disks were not tested in NT or Win2K, so I can't even be certain that it's working correctly. I assume that it is, but, because of the difference in file structure, the "standard" version will not put a shortcut in the startup group (is there even a "startup" group?).

OK... I flushed all 3 of them. I'll let them hum till tomorrow night and see if I show up.

Thanks for the help!
