3 caches on my 3500+?????????

I ran the little latency program that's with CPUZ checking the latencies. I was kinda surprised to see a L1 Cache of 12k, L2 64k, and a L3 of 512k

It happens every now and then but not all of the time.
The "normal" is L1 64k and L2 512k.

Any reason why 3 different ones are showing up?

It's mutating!

Honestly, i have no idea.

Try a different program for showing system info.

I did. Nothing shows an errant 12k cache. Just thought it was strange.
I'll take a screen shot of it next time. I'm not crazy. I swear. 😛

64K of L1 cache is wrong on any AMD64. It should be 128K 2-way set-associative L1 cache (64K Data and 64K Instruction) and 512K Unified L2 cache (total) for your Clawhammer.

I just thought, isn't the 3500+ Clawhammer failed FX's with half their L2 cache disabled and clocked lower? If so the 512K L2 is true, if it has 1024K L2, My mistake

Maybe the latency tool I have is screwed up.

L1 as a whole has 128Kb's of Cache .. which comprises of L1 Data - 64Kb and
L1 Instruction - 64Kb .. and L2 is just plain 512Kb

Yes I am aware of that. My original question is why it was reporting 3 caches. L1 of only 12k and the other two were the 128k L2 and the 512k L3

Maybe you got a new super secret AMD64 that is really an Intel killer? LOL. Have you tried reinstalling the program and retesting? Sounds stupid but sometimes it does help. Does Sisandra show 128K L1 and 512K L2?

I would think just a reporting error in the program, but with the 12k L1, 128k L2, and an L3 cache, it looks an awful lot like a Desktop Intel Celeron Extreme Edition to me🙂

ACK. They switched out my A64 for a celery that actually fits on my motherboard. Bastages.

Sandra says 64k Synchronous 2 way Data Cache and 64k 2 way Instruction Cache and the 512k L2.

The latency file is just screwy. Nothing to install with it. Just open the folder and double click.
