Asus P5K Premium/WIFI-AP Black Pearl(Intel P35, 1333FSB, Dual Channel, PCI-E, Core Duo2, Quad Core, ATX)
or
Asus P5KC (Intel P35, 1333FSB, Dual Channel, PCI-E, DDR2 & DDR3, Core Duo2, Quad Core, ATX)
or
Asus P5N32-E SLI(nForce 680i, 1333FSB, Dual Channel, Dual PCI-E, Quad Core, Core Duo2, ATX)

i am also thinking about either Crucial Ballistix Tracer BL2KIT12864AL1065 PC8500 1066Mhz 2GB Kit (2x1GB, 5-5-5-15, heatspreader, LED, Lifetime) if i plan to run xp or OCZ OCZ2P8004GK PC6400 800Mhz 4GB Kit (4x1GB, 4-5-4-18, heatspreader, Lifetime) if i want to run vista.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 64bit Quad Core or Intel Core Duo 2 E6850 64bit Dual Core i still can't decide which one i should go with the e6850 is 8 bucks more...

i will be just oc'ing and gaming i will be using liquid cooling and running either a Sapphire Radeon 2900Pro 1GB or a eVGA Geforce 8800GTS Superclock 320MB still can't decide on either of those

please help me out i really want build a new system since my current system will be sold with in the month

1. Asus P5K series is definitely good, but if I were you, I'd strongly consider the Abit IP35 series which is cheaper and engineered better. I paid $79 incl ship AR for my Abit IP35-E.

2. The worst Crucial Ballistix beats the best OCZ Ram any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Marketing campaigns notwithstanding, OCZ RAM is crap IMHO.

3. Out of the 2 CPUs you listed, I'd go Q6600 quad but make sure you get G0 stepping which runs cooler and OCs higher. Check out www.clubit.com for guaranteed G0.

4. If you're going Vista, I'd pick a Nvidia card for better driver compatibility. If XP, it doesn't matter.

As soon as he figures out what the fuck MO stepping is he will realize you meant GO stepping.

Asus p5k premium had issues with sata2 drives. I'd go with the deluxe edition instead.

As soon as he realizes what a GO stepping is, he'll realize that both of you meant G0 stepping.

None of these are X38, makes no sense to buy them now unless you A) short on donuts B) don't play games or C) not in high -rez (below 1280) - any other case X38 board would make a longer-serving option.

Stay away from the P5K Premium Black Eye edition. There's a problem with the sata controller.

Regarding your question about 2 gigs PC2-8500 or 4 gigs PC2-6400, keep in mind how you'll be running your CPU...even when/if overclocked. PC6400 will be more than sufficient -- it will allow you to run 1:1 with your FSB @ 400. Unless you think you're going to OC that quad beyond 3.6ghz (i.e. 9 multi x 400 FSB) and I seriously doubt that, that will be more than enough. 4 gigs also better for Vista too.

Secondly and most important, don't cheap out on your PSU. I can't stress this enough -- especially if you're buying a quad processor.

My personal favs are Corsair 620HX (which I have), Seasonic 650W S12 or 700W M12, and PC Power & Cooling 610W.

FYI, the Corsair is on sale at www.clubit.com for $111 AR right now.

Take a deep breath there Kalvin....

Better? Good.

Just curious...I realize you are in Canada why are you bound to otvtech.com? I'm not that impressed with their selection and price list you linked. Have you tried www.ncix.com?
