bupdate 3
I really love 3-95.com/dixiesys.com.. they really are a great company and have gone above and beyond making sure that all their customers were taken care of during the server outage. Anyways.... most of the site is back up now. the forums are and a few other pages.. just a matter of transferring the rest of everything. spread the word :)

update 2
Good news!

it appears as if all my data has been recorvered and saved off of the old server 5. Now i'm working on the move to server 12, the new DNS entries/settins should take effect sometime today... and hopefully get everything taken care of.

my thanks goes out to gary harris (owner of dixiesys) becuase i'm sure nobody likes have a server fail on them... and he's dealing with it great and doing his best to keep all his customers happy. And i got double the bandwidth and storage space out of the deal :D

anyways.. jsut to let all you of know how have been sending me PM's.. things will be restored,. and unless something drastic happens, the forums will come back up without and glitches by tonight without any data loss.

update message

okay.. do here is the latest.. Server 5 is still having problems.. it was up for a while last night, but has since gone back down. Yesterday I decided to make the move and transfer my account to server 12... its a pain in hiney but in the end it should work out for the best. Plus its to a Plesk server which is good. However in the transition time that means my site won't be reachable, and now i've got to figure out a way to transfer my database...

i hope they get things working again so that i can get my site back up and running as soon as possible.

and if anybody knows how to do a 'dump' of a database on to my comptuers hard drive using the myphpadmin software.... that would be quite helpful.
:)

original message

Have you tried calling them at 1-256-325-1536 or checking forums.dixiesys.com?

Looks like there is a problem with wcg.net. Trying to find more but looks like their lines are trashed right now.

My site (aphexsystems.com) was up and down all last night... One second it would be fine, the next it would be unreachable...

It seems to be fine now, albeit very sluggishw...

think it could handle the bandwidth of two forums and a pic hosting service (speaking of which, can you delete or reset my account for that? i get an error message everytime i log in)

lately the server's been gettin little to no traffic at all...

and I can't do anything about it... sully and I have worked our asses off to try to fix the problem, but it seems to be an isolated problem affecting few people (I'm one of them though lol)

I don't know what to tell ya... I can't fix it :(

rallispec, with your forums and everything, how much bandwidth do you use up in a month on rallispec.net?

i'm thinking about setting up msg board software (phpbb) myself. :)

hmm.. okay, well i cant access my site right now to get the exact stats--- but i think i can remember them off the top of my head because somebody else asked about them the other day

i average about 17,000 hits per day (each refresh and page load counts as a hit)
and average about 105 unique IP's per day, i think the most ever was about 205 or so.

and the forums average about 700-900mb transfer per month.

its just server 5 having the problem, its one of the older cobalt raq servers. the better Plesk servers are doing fine.

i'm in the process of getting my site moved over to one of them right now

yeah 6 gig is way more than enough.. according to phpbb.com, it takes about 500 active users to get 5 gig of transfer a month.
