3.5 Trouble

I just installed a burner on my computer. It works fine. However, when i boot up the computer now, it says "Floopy disk error (40)" <---whatever that means. It doesn't seem to locate my floppy drive. I can press F1 and bypass it, which brings me into windows and everything works fine. I just don't have access to my 3.5 drive. I tried going into the bios to hopefully see if that was the problem but a long time ago i put a password in it to stop others from messing around with the bios. I can't remember the password now. I don't know what to do! Please help! Anyone.

yup, i have the case open and I've tried just about every type of configuration for the cables. It keeps saying Floppy Disk(s) Fail (40)???? I don't know what to do?

Hey, I had the same problem.

Simply open your pc and locat JP1 andremove it for about 10secs. then put it back on and boot up system. it will clear bios and BYE BYE PASSWORD.

Next Go to "Peripherials" change clear ESCD and put it to once. Basically what I just told you is abotu where you haveto go. I'm on my OS and the BIOS I havn't not looked @ but its a guess of how to get around and do this.

Your floppy drive will be working and all is good.....if not e-amil me at lilej6@yahoo.com andI will give you scpecific directions.
