I recent bought a firewire/usb2.0 panel to fit in my case. To my dismay, I accidentally ordered the 3.5" instead of the 5.25". Does an adapter panel exist anywhere, or should I just try and sell it to get the 5.25" version?

(My case only has 1 3.5" bay.)

You might consider an Antec EasyUSB, which can do what you want while providing an additional pair of USB 1.1 ports if your mobo happens to have enough headers for all of them. At ~$10, it's not too bad on price. Looks like this.

edit: ooo, but it's not $1.50 either ;) Nice find LoneWolf1 :D

Nice find there, but the item I've already bought has USB 2.0 + firewire. Too bad shipping is so steep on that one -- $7 ouch!

I would have suggested going to your local Mom&Pop computer store. It's likely they would have one in their "salvaged parts" collection. Even the best of those things aren't worth more than $2.

I think that only works with floppy drives though; I tried something like that with a hard drive, and the holes don't match up. The 3.5" universal adapter consists of two brackets; don't have a link handy right now unfortunately. Someone else might.

Thanks, but I'm not trying to mount a hard drive. It's for a 3.5" firewire/usb front panel (same size as a floppy)
