Help!
My mom wanted me to reformat her hard drive and start fresh.
I reformat mine w/no problems whatsoever, so I assumed hers would be the same.
BIG MISTAKE! I fdisked the floppy instead of the C: drive. Now the computer will not recognize the floppy anymore. As a matter of fact, at startup after the screen that lists all available hardware, it goes to a black screen w/a white cursor blinking in the upper left hand corner...and it just blinks...and blinks...and blinks! Nothing! Tried looking in the BIOS, everything looks fine, I put the harddrive as the first peripheral to boot from...NADA!!!!! Ugh! What have I done? If I can't fix this, I have to give up my computer to her. The specs are as follows:
MOBO: Mat No. 109931 cognac 19990723
Floppy: Mitsumi model D359M3
OS: 98se

If anyone can help, I would be most grateful.
Right now I'm frustrated...could be the lack of sleep and the thought of losing my comp.
Please forgive the mispelled words...it's 2:30am.

I believe "fdisk" only works on fixed drives.
What is your present "boot order" in the BIOS?

I think you just hosed your boot floppy. Make a new one from your computer (assuming you're running 98SE) or download one from bootdisk.com.
