I have these adapters that allow a 2.5" 44 pin ATA notebook drive to connect to a 40 pin ATA cable (standard IDE) on any mainboard. Has anyone tried to use the adapter in reverse, i.e. connect a 3.5" desktop drive to the notebook port? I'd love to see how a fast notebook would run with a 1200JB ATA drive! :)

Cheers!

I think the only real way to get the hdd onto the notebook is through a pcmcia adapter (or paralell, or usb, or scsi, or firewire) get your soldering iron out and start experimenting :D
