3 -> 4 pin adaptors

The wonderful (emphasis on sarcasm here) DigiDoc 5 has only 3 pin connectors/cables, yet most of my friends case fans are 4 pin. Does anyone know where he can find some adaptors for this?

Also, anyone ever try removing the alarm from the DigiDoc5? Would just mauling it/removing it cause the circuitry any problems (different resistance)?

You can get 3 to 4 pin adapters at most small computer shops that carry case fans. Good luck.

I've tried several, and none I can find have them. A lot have 4 -> 3 pin adaptors, but nobody has 3 -> 4 pin adaptors.

If you can't find any locally, you can always order them online. There's lots of sites like Inflowdirect, Directron, ColdCPU, and Case-Mod. I'm sure there's lots more places you can find for good deals too. Case Mod seems to have them for like $0.50 each so that might be a good place to try. Good luck.

All of those so far have been for plugging a 3pin fan into a 4pin power source. I need vice versa...I need a 4pin fan plugged into a 3 pin power source.

I basically need to plug a 4pin fan into a motherboard header (although I'm not, but that's the style connector I have).

Nope, actually that is exactly what I was looking for. RPM monitoring isn't available because the fan doesn't support it, it's not a problem with the adaptor.
