3/4 of gamers can't tell a good game if they see one!

Check out the latest poll over at VoodooExtreme. It asks readers which 2001 game has the best graphics. I think this topic is not debatable: Halo is by FAR the best looking game of the year. I've seen all of the games on that list and none of them come close, even MGS2. Halo is winning though, but only with 23% - meaning that the other 77% of the people who voted can't tell a good-looking game if they see one. What a piss-off for game graphics designers! RTCW is second with 21%, beating games like Max Payne (17%), DOA3 (8%), MGS2 (6%) and Rogue Leader (6%). RTCW is a pretty average-looking game by today's standarts, so that's some more proof of what i said.

I'm not a Kiddie Gamer so maybe I'm wrong but isn't there more to a good game than outstanding graphics? You know things like gameplay?

While Max Payne for the most part had good graphics, some of them were crappy.

Halo is NOT the best looking game... Wolf and Max Payne are much better in that respect.

When I see Halo playing at 1024x768 or above with Full ansitrophic filtering on my monitor, I'll be tempted to say it has the best graphics. But for now, it doesn't.

Heh this is pretty scary. You guys think Max Payne and Wolf look better than Halo? Damn that proves my point. Halo isn't even in the same league as those two. To say otherwise would be blasphemy I don't know about you two, but i've played both games until the end, and never seen anything this (or this or this) pretty.

I agree with the 3/4's of those gamers. Why? Because Halo is too over-rated. When you get down to it, it's no better than MGS2, DoA 3, Grand Theft Auto 3, Gran Tourismo 3 A-Spec, etc.

It is sad that in second is Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Sure, it's a great sequel to Wolfenstein 3D which I played when I was enjoying my Genesis and SNES days, but it is in no way one of the second best graphical games of 2001.

My vote goes to Dead or Alive 3. But, the best graphical game was Bubsy for Playstation.. Revolutionary graphics galore

Halo just doesn't do it for me. Nvmax tweaked Wolfenstein would be my choice, leather clad women and tru-form is a hard combo to beat IMO.

Also to me graphics is not just 'prettiness' but how they portay atmosphere, in this respect Halo didnt cut it IMO. Sometimes HALO just looks, well, low res and a bit blocky to me

There isn't a VGA adapter for the X-box yet, right?

A TV's resolution cannot compare with that of a AG CRT monitor.

Halo can only run at 640x480. It's a software limitation. All current Xbox games only run at that resolution even on HDTV's which can support 1920x1080.

Have you tried playing Halo on a PC? All you get is an error message! I only play games that work!
