3.2EE ES worth $275?

I'm looking to get an HT enabled chip to inject a little more life into my aging socket 478 user. I can get a 3.0E for $85, or the 3.2EE ES for $275. I have a Shuttle AB60N 865PE board . I'm a power user...I try to encode a DVD and play WoW and chat at the same time. The Celeron D simply can't do it all. Which do you think I'd be better served by?

System specs:
Celeron D 2.4 E0 @ 4.1
2GB Corsair Value PC3200
6800 Ultra

do it

you can brag that you have an EE, show off your chip to the ladies 😉 The ladies like it when you show them you chip, especially when your chip has a large die...

Probably not even going to fool with it. Anything on socket 478 will likely be a lateral move or even a downgrade from what I have. I'd like a dual core, but guess that isn't going to happen unless I buy a PCI-E graphics board.

Only way the 3.2EE would be worth it, is if you're looking to do some FSB overclocking (250+), or want to overclock and keep the FSB at normal for some insane reason (increase mult, keep FSB at 200). That's only if the EE ES is unlocked. Not all Engineering Samples are unlocked these days.

I personally wouldn't bother with it. If you want a killer FSB overclock, there are many 2.4Cs that can hit 250+ FSB.
