For someone who grew up when 4:3 screens were the standard, I have to admit: just trying a 3:2 laptop for 2 days in 2020 was such a pleasure (and quite shocking as well).
Have you used any 3:2? Acer? Surface?
The way I see it, younger generation just never had the privilege - so they don't know what they're missing.
And people aged 30+ - who were very vocal when PCs slowly moved to movie-optimized screen - simply gave up already.
So we ended up with a market that just got used to the awful 16:9 and doesn't demand an alternative. :/
I can only hope that at least 16:10 becomes more popular thanks to MacBooks and XPS.
The laptop I used was the Acer Swift 3 with 1035G4. And I probably would buy instantly if it had 16GB RAM (and there are 16GB models with 16:9 screens...).
I hope 3:2 screens (ideally, with slightly lower resolution) will become more present in the Tiger Lake lineup...
