This question is fairly simple.
I was wondering if the Dell 400SC supported prescott edition CPU chips.
On dell's webiste, the 400SC is available with a 3.4ghz 1mb l2 cache chip. However I am still unsure.
My dell is a 2.4ghz....
I just wanted to say something about the Dell 400SC Motherboard.
The heatsink for the cpu blocks the lock thingy, to hold the pins in place. You cannot unlock the cpu pins because the heatsink is in the way.... therefore u have to kinda manhandle it off. Lame design.
getting a dell is bad enuff and geting a prescott's even worse. now getting a dell AND a prescott = BLAH! but yes, it can support it. just for u to know, a northwood is superior to the prescott.
oh ok, then its all good purchasing it is one thing, but getting it as a gift is another. as a gift, i'd gladly accept it as long as its not a celeron!

I'd tend to agree, but you never had a 400SC as your everyday computer. I love this computer and buying quality parts for it such as good ram and this machine is rock solid stable.
I just picked up the 3.0 prescott pulling the 2.0 celeron and I'm running a little hot with the stock heatsink/fan. I'm not doing any vid editing or playing any games for a couple of days until my new heatsink arrives.
