Okay, what has a better OCability typically: 2.8C 30cap or a 3.0C 12 cap?

I just got a 12 cap 3.0C from NewEgg, but can trade it for a 2.8C 30Cap for free...

(damn you newegg and your not exchanging CPUs)

Any input would be great,
thanks,
mojo

Someone on the O/C forum was saying it is a myth about the 30 cap 3.0Cs O/Cing better than the 12 cap ones. Might want to search the Intel processor forum.

The 3.0c is a very good overclocking chip. There are 30 cap 3.0c's but it is luck of the draw since they are all d1 steppings. The 30 cap 2.8 is a M0 stepping. From what I have heard the sl6wu is a good overclocker. The only way you will be able to get these by going to a shop and hand picking one. I am pretty sure online shops don't guarantee steppings.
