I am thinking about replacing my geforce 256 agp card with a radeon 9200se 64mb, 64-bit card. at present when i play f1 2002(racing simulation), shadows and even 2x anti-aliasing are not possible, even at minimum detail. would shadows and at least 2x aa be possible with a 9200se.

my system specs are:
cpu: pentium 3, 933mhz
mobo: asus cusl2-m, intel 815e chipset
ram: 512mb 100/133mhz sdram
agp: asus geforce 256

would a geforce fx 5200 64mb be a better option than a 9200se? is its anti-aliasing better?

thanks,
Jaysin.

i'd imagine the fx5200 would be 64-bit as well in which case it would be worse than a 9200se but they both would suck so bad it wouldn't matter anyway. you should be able to get a used geforce4 ti for about 50$ though, that would be a lot better way to spend your money.

What is your budget?

I would not buy either of those cards.

A used 8500 or a 9100 perhaps?

Those two cards would be complete ass. If you wanted a cheap, good performer, look into the gf4 ti series or get an 8500/9100.
