So this one was on slickdeals and I didn't see it here:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...uSvYAp7egGQQHQ

Buy 2 of these sticks (was allowing 2 to be added to cart even though it says limit 1 per customer, not sure how long that will last) and then choose Visa Checkout to get $20 off $100+ purchase in the cart. Then there are 3 rebates, one for each PNY stick and a tiger direct rebate for any $100+ purchase

$170
-$20 Visa checkout
-$20 Tiger direct direct rebate of $20 off any single $100+ purchase
http://images.highspeedbackbone.net/campaigns/tigerpromos/TD-19549Revised4.pdf
-2x$40 PNY memory rebate (limit 2 per household)
http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/rebates/Tiger Direct PNY-6528US MEMORY.pdf
$50 AR and Visa checkout

Alternatively you could buy one stick and some filler item to get over $100 I guess.

These are some hefty rebates but $25 for 8GB DDR3 is as cheap as I've seen recently, unless you count that scary mcafee rebate deal.

imho too much work and too much money tied up for the potential to get screwed over on the rebates, which PNY is notorious for not honoring.

Looks like both the TD & PNY rebates are handled by 4myrebate, so it should be safe if you don't mind having your money tied up for a month or two.

If this was one of those McAfee "deals" I wouldn't bother with it, but since it isn't I think this is actually a hot deal.

So. Tempting. ARGGHH.

I have no need for it 99% of the time, but that 1% of the time when I'm running multiple game clients simultaneously, I hit massive page file issues with my *gb.

Pulled the trigger on this baby... $62.35 for 16GB is awesome!! I will probably Flip it and bake some quick bucks... $100 MIR makes me a bit nervous, however, I am generally religious about these so hopefully I will be good.

Final price breakdown -
Total for all Items: $169.98
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Sales Tax: $12.37
Discount: $20.00
Grand Total: $162.35

If you don't want the money tied up, I would go for the "No wait" option when you fill out the forms at 4myrebates.com.

They charge a fee for that no wait option, but overall the deal should still be very much worth it.

Normally when I do these rebates, I will get an email around a week or two after sending it in telling me that my rebate has been approved. In the same email, they also give me a tracking # and tell me it will take 5 to 7 weeks to get the check reward card out.

So in order to keep things straight and not miss the check reward card in the mail, I make out a list of all the rebates I am expecting (and then I check the rebates off the list as they come in.)

However, for someone that doesn't go to the same length as me to ensure I get my money that "no wait option" may not be such a bad idea (for rebate based sales that are really good). This way a person gets their money really fast without think about it much,

yeah, its $2 per rebate, so you can get $94 in 2weeks or wait 2 months ang get $100

someone at slickdeals created multiple accounts with different credit cards and bought one stick RAM each. Interesting.

so I have a scanner and scan it all before sending it off. It's pretty easy, and the worst they've done in the past is tell me to verify. whatever, I had it scanned, simple email.

Thing#2 I do is make a short videotape with cellphone of the filled out form, stuffing into letter, and stuffing into post office box. I don't know if this would be permissible evidence in court but might be enough for them to believe it just didn't get to them in time.

When I have to start certified-mailing rebates I will stop rebates entirely. However, while I have the time and resources, I don't mind documenting everything. Scanning is easy.

I have a pretty good track record with 4myrebate and no tax at TD for me. In for (2) here.

Thank you, OP.

MIR on the sticks are 2 per household and Visa checkout discount does not kick in until $100

oh, that explains his comment about filling his cart buying other stuff. I'm not sure why that wasn't apparent to me when I read it

Yeah, the slickdeals has it as $45ARs for 1 stick with fillers or $50 for 2 sticks. I guess if you really wanted the fillers, there are some free AR items you could add. I don't want to play that game though, already a lot of rebates involved in the deal. Like other said though, I've had good luck with all my 4myrebates so far.

anyways, now what do I do with 32GB RAM?
More virtual machines!

In for it, thanks. I really have no use for it but shouldn't be too hard to sell my 8GB for a few bucks to go towards it I guess

We'll see if this even works out. Mine has said something like status: to drop shipment for over a day now.

Edit: Nvm, looks like it has shipped from NJ. Got the invoice.
