2x6pin connection GTX 280 with die shrink?

For the life of me I can't remember were i read it at, but is it confirmed the new GTX 280 to be released at end of month will use 2 6pin power connectors? I read it someplace!

I don't see the point of buying a new card now when they do that at end of this month/beginning of next month.

Anyone got a link?

i hope it has only 2 6pin connectors altho i think they may keep the 8 pin in there to help against the 4870x2

What do you mean "help against" the 4870x2. They are not even competing in that area.

That makes sense. The 55nm version would use less power, and the 8 pin connector was never actually necessary even for the current 65nm one (was probably included as a precautionary thing for heavy overclocking more than anything else).
