im planning on upgrading to a 4200+ x2 and looking to add more ram to my system am currently using OCZ plat rev 2 3200 2X512 see specs below.

I don't OC, would there be any harm in adding a 2x1GB kit and keeping my existing ram would i have to loosen latency or can i add any 2x1gb kit with 2-2-2-5 timngs cheaper options are preferable could i even add this kit
and still keep my ocz im guessing I would have to loosen timings some but i think its a decent option if im not planning on OCing and want to run at stock speeds

there can be some problems with using all 4 dimms on A64, as I have personally experienced, but if you're not overclocking this really shouldn't be an issue for you. If running 4 dimms you will have to run at 2T instead of 1T and most likely have to loosen your timings to something like 3-3-3-7. However, beware that not all brands of Ram are compatible with each other, and if you're running all the ram slots, I would strongly recommend getting the same brand - I had to return some Crucial Ballistix for that very reason.

2x512 plus 2x1GB is what I finally decided to go with on my first rig. I wanted to keep 32-bit OS on my main rig for maximum compatibility and the Egg had Ballistix 2x512 sale a few weeks ago. ($35 after MIR) Plugged them on my DFI NF4 SLI-DR board that had been housing 2x1GB OCZ Titanium sticks (Infineon chips), and they work great together. (Note: Command Rate went from 1T->2T)

In your case, the OCZ Plat Rev 2 is Samsung TCCD, so I can't tell for sure how the infineon based 1GB sticks would co-operate. I would avoid going with the generic sticks that you linked, though. Also, I don't think there have been 2x1GB DDR400 that actually worked at 2-2-2 timings. There were one that Kingston advertised as 2x1GB/2-2-2, but most people complained because they couldn't get them to work at 2-2-2 @DDR400.

Whichever way you go, set the timings manually to match the sticks with looser timings, and set command rate 2T. I'd think you'll be fine.
