Hi guys..this is my gonna-be setup -

1) Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 1066MHz 8MB LGA775 EM64T CPU
2) 4 GB Kingston DDR2 800 MHZ (PC6400) AND 4 x 1 GB
3) 8800 GTX (PLANNING TO GO SLI with 2x 8800 GTX cards later - using same motherboard)
4) Creative X-Fi Fatality Champion Series
5) Rosewill 750 Watt Power Supply
6) Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATA2 7200rpm 16MB
7) THERMALTAKE HIGH PERFORMANCE HARD DRIVE COOLING FAN
8) Intel Spire Advanced Processor Cooler
9) 4-5 Case Cooling Fans
10) 1-2 Exhaust Fans

Also...do u think i would need Memory Heat Spreaders..?? they are worth $12 for each ram so i wanted to cut off on it without causing too much overheating..

I'm planning to go SLI later on 2 8800 GTX cards so would the power supply be enough??
http://www.computerlx.com/prod...aspx?t=&product_ID=428

Any other suggestions to my setup would be awesomee!!

Thank You!!!

The ASUS P5N32-E SLI uses the nForce 680i chipset, so your motherboard supports full 16x speed SLI. So no, there will be no issues with your motherboard and video cards. Now, what is the amperage on your 750w Rosewill PSU? No, you will not need heat spreaders for your RAM. That is unless you plan to overclock your RAM then I would think about purchasing some.

I suggest purchasing two 8800GTS (G92) cards however. Less expensive and performance is pretty similar.

If you are positive about wanting more than 1 8800 gtx then look at ati and crossfire. People are getting better performance out of crossfire.

I assume you are getting the PC built, so from the choices offered by computerlx.com, I'd go with a THERMALTAKE 850 WATT TOUGHPOWER

This PSU scores a solid 9 from jonnyguru: http://jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=17

They also have a review on the Rosewill: http://jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=122
...it actually doesn't do poorly either, but I just don't trust Rosewill quite yet.

If you do decide to go with the Thermaltake, make sure you know which one you are getting... That site lists the model as both the W0172RU (top of page) and the W0131 (bottom of page). I think they are both identical internally, but one has modular cables and one has fixed cables. You would just what to make sure you know which one it is.

Out of all those cards (man those prices are high), I'd go with this one.

SLI is nVidia's version of a dual card setup as Crossfire is AMD/ATI's version of the dual card setup. Also, I'm not sure if you know this but you cannot combine two different GPU's in SLI. But you can in Crossfire.

Are you really sure you need to run SLI or Xfire later? If you are running 1680 or less you wont IMHO. Are you building a gaming rig or what? A single card will run fine for the most part, of course things like Crysis push the envelope pretty high, but for one game right now I wouldnt waste the money, but thats just me.

By then, there will be stronger cards and newer chipsets... If you want SLi or Crossfire, do it NOW.

You could get that Asus P5K with crossfire capability and two HD 3870s...

actually i changed my mind..ima just go with 1 8800 GT or 8800 GTX...
8800 GT = $300
8800 GTX = $540

Should i spent the extra money and get a 8800 GTX? Im just gona go with P5K Core 2 Quad motherboard to fit this videocard.

Stick with the 880GT. It's less money and performance is pretty similar.

ok so i was wrong? it seems like it to me. you ask short questions which seem pretty easy to know the answer to.

will it run crysis?

DUH its one of the best cards out , what more of an answer do u want.

Now what resolution ?

depends on what monitor u have man.

what the next question? How long will the card last you till your next upgrade?

I got an idea...

You tell us:

1) What you plan on doing with the PC.
2) What you need. Do you need a Keyboard, mouse, and monitor as well...?
3) It seems like you are getting the system built at http://www.computerlx.com, are you only interested in getting it built there or are you open to other system builders?
4) Most important: your intended budget.

This will work much better than you asking us about a new component every time you post. This way we can take all the above factors into consideration when making recommendations instead of just recommending individual components for Crysis at some unspecified resolution without any regard to overall budget.
