for setting up 5.1 the center and sub would go into the orage jack, but sounds like you will have 2x 2.1 setups that each have just one miniplug, and their own circutry for selecting sub frequencies, thus they would be treated by the drivers as a 4.0 setup.

Make sure you have the cord length (or a proper extension) to get the speakers behind you! Standard speark cables I've found are very short and even my surround sound spearkers with about 2.5x the cable length are only barely long enough if I want to run them around one side of the computer (ie one has to go a longer distance so I don't have a cord hanging in the middle of the room). But yeah, you should be able to run a 4 speaker sound scheme with 2 sets of 2 speakers.
