2TB laptop hard drives surface

Not bad, but with a height of 15mm. Not usable in many laptops, if at all. Look forward to these sizes in 9.5mm and 7mm.
 
A drive like that is probably geared toward desktop replacements where it can be accomodated in the larger body. I can see it being useful in HTPC setups where smaller is better. A drive like that possibly means less noise, less heat and more creative mounting.
 
I wonder if this is the same drive that is inside the 2tb Passport Studio version. The regular passport is natively USB 3.O, but I think the studio version is SATA. The power numbers were pretty impressive, so this would be great for a cool quiet htpc.

Read/Write = 1.7 Watts
Idle = 0.80 Watts
Standby = 0.20 Watts
Sleep = 0.20 Watts
