As many 1-egg reviews as 5-egg ones.

But with any drive, as long as you keep your data backed up, you can always see how good/bad they are first-hand.

I picked up a couple of the P300 2TB retail-boxed drives, last time they went on sale at Newegg, for around $62-63 ea. I thought that was a pretty good deal on a 2TB, and retail-boxed no less, which I much prefer due to handling and shipping issues with most HDDs that you can buy in bulk on the internet.

Glad you think so too, Larry! I figured I'd broadcast the deal so people wouldn't miss it -Although, I know any gearhead would've already caught it.

Toshiba P300 = Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000
Should be solid (I have a bunch of 3TB P300s and 7K3000s running in various rigs)

Actually the PH3300U = Deskstar 7K3000. The P300 isn't the same design, I think it's Toshiba's own design. Much worse reviews as well.

I should be retiring a lot of 1.5-4TB drives in the next couple of months.
