2T -> 1T - Causing crashes in games...

Okay...so sadly it appears that my 1T timings are unstable in anything besides windows and 3DMark05. When I run Doom3, HL2, etc, the computer locks up in the first frame. Any suggestions?

Here are the shots of my BIOS...right now I'm set to Auto oc the cpu and memory (excpet that I've now enabled 2T timings).

BIOS 1
BIOS 2
BIOS 3
BIOS 4
BIOS 5

Thanks for any advice/suggestions!

What else should I change? (I'll try 2.8)
Only change one thing at a time so if your system becomes really unstable or something you know what it is. Do you plan on overclocking?

not really....but I've changed it from 2.7 and then to 2.8 and the games worked at both settings 🙂.

But now...what do I keep it at? 2.8?

Also, since I've disabled Auto OC, the rest of my settings in this page of the BIOS won't be OC'ed at all. Now, I don't want to do any heavy oc'ing by any means....but a slight oc would be nice. Suggestions of what to change?

Keep it at 2.8V. Keep the VCore at the default voltage. For a mild overclock, try bumping the FSB up to 210. You might need to raise your memory voltage to 2.9 to keep it stable at low latencies (2-2-2-5 1T) but there is always the chance it won't be stable at all.

I take it that lowering the multiplier and drastically raising the FSB while using a memory divider is outside of the realm of a "slight OC."

I just turned on the Auto 3% OC and I'm getting:
2678.3 MHz core spped
13x multiplier
206 mhz HTT
206 mhz memory

I'm going to run 3dmark05 cpu tests to see how it handles it.

Should I just disable this though and go another route?

You could turn off auto OC and manually set those settings (make sure the memory is still at 1T). See if that's stable, and if it's not bump the VCore up slightly and try again. It should be fine, as a 3% OC is hardly that much.

If it's stable, bump the FSB up to 208, test again, then 210. I wouldn't push it past 210 if you just want a slight OC. (210 = 5% OC).
