The easiest method is go to Status>Wireless, click Site Survey at the bottom. Choose your primary SSID from the list. Hit connect.
Go to Wireless>Basic Settings, if Repeat option won't connect you to the main box, try Client Bridge. (First try it w/out password).
Proceed with creating virtual AP SSID @Virtual Interfaces

I don't want to use it as a repeater.
I want to use it as a dumb wireless access point that is connected via ethernet to the main router. As wireless repeater I lose a lot of speed.

I follow the instructions to do this on the DD-WRT website to the T ... but the "dumb" router then becomes unreachable on the fixed IP address that I assigned to it.
WTF? I have now tried it 5 times ... same result every time.
