2nd PC, XP Install, Is it better......

I'm about ready to make the jump to XP but before I
attempt to install it on my main PC, I'm going to install
it on my 2nd PC and test a few things out.
My 2nd PC has a Celeron 466, BX, Trident 4 meg vid, 256 RAM,
lucent modem, SB 16 PCI sound, generic CD ROM, and a brand
new WD 30 gig HD. I'm going to be using fat32 during this
testing period as I understand reformatting and
partitioning is easier.
On a clean install, freshly partitioned HD, is it better
to do a minimal install (no modem, no sound card) and
install the peripherals later?
