I have:
Westinghouse 37" 1080 using the DVI connection to my computer
ViewSonic G220fb 22" crt monitor with a VGA to DVI converter

I had 7800gt and i swapped that for an 8800GTS this week. My 2nd monitor stopped working, not even on bootup did the screen appear. Its like its not even plugged in. So i thought it was the card so i took it back and got a 8800GT. Same issue :(

I plugged my 7800GT back in, it works fine on both monitors. Is there a known issue with this?

Thanks guys!

Just taking a stab at it, I'd guess the drivers are not set properly on the new video cards. You might try downloading the most recent drivers from nvidia, and look through the options to enable two screens. My guess is it's probably a software issue, not hardware.

you need to list your rig components and OS.

with dual monitors the post screen should normally come up on both regardless of os drivers, srkneecap.
it may be:
-bios setting.
-card firmware update req'd
-m/b bios update req'd
-new video cable req'd.
-card having trouble with TV? display detection
-usually only needs a driver update if you are running NV dualview for independent resolutions(i.e. non spanning mode). In which case: disconnect one monitor run normal driver update and opt for dualview installation. when it tells you to reboot, shut down and connect 2nd display. when it installs the dualview at boot up, it should detect new displays.

I fixed it, somehow the card corrupted the driver install. I reinstalled the drivers (169.04) and it worked. What i dont understand is why it wouldn't show the post screen, which happens before the drivers kick in.
