I have a new PC with a Maximus XI Hero motherboard (which has two M.2 slots), and two 2TB M.2 NVMe SSDs (one by PNY, one XPG Gammix).
Sometimes, one of the SSDs (so far it's been the XPG sitting on the northern slot) is not recognized. Not by BIOS, not by Windows Disk Management.
When this happens, I can try removing and reinserting the SSDs, and generally after doing so it does recognize both.
But after a few resets, it reverts to recognizing only one of them.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this, and how it can be resolved?
Also, what are the chances that things will be better if I get an M.2->PCIe adapter card, and connect the SSD to a PCIe slot instead of the dedicated M.2 slot?
Thanks.
