I have a 2nd interview for a job. The first one went really well, met with the Helpdesk manager for about an hour. I'm being asked back, along with one other person, (only 2 slots to choose from??), to meet the rest of the staff and have them ask us a few questions. He wrote me back an email saying I had my choice of time slot, 1st or 2nd.

I'm leaning towards the 2nd:
  • later in the morning, I'm more awake
  • I'd be the freshest in their minds befor they met to make a decision

Cons on 2nd /Pros for 1st slot:
  • If they like the first person, they'll use him as the basis for comparison, maybe unfairly biased against me
  • If I do well first, I'll be the basis for comparison

Comments? Vote in the Poll and give me some feedback. I'll email him back before 9 p.m. tonight, so hurry

Well, I guess I didn't create a poll, but help me out anyway :)

Thanks.

go 2nd!!!

Always go last!!

I have been going through a job interview process with one of the big 5, if you think 2 interviews is a long process, try 2.5 months and 7 interviews....

i finally got called in to discuss salary compensation and that happens tomorow so im somewhat certain i have the job.

But anyways, through my long drawn out convolouted (sp?) process, i have always been the last one in, and it has worked to my advantage numerous times, in that I have been able to go beyound my alloted time slot and talk quite a bit more than i would have had if i went in earlier..

for example when i was talking with the national director, i was given a 45 min time slot for the interview... we went TWO hours! Couldn't have done that if there were other potentials waiting in line to get interviewed.

so it definitly helped in my case.

I remember the 2nd interview, there were 12!!! time slots!! crazy... i picked last :)

that's a good point about going long. The first interview, went longer than I had anticipated. It was good, we just talked, and we ended up covering alot of the points he wanted to in the list of questions he had. In the job interviews I've had since I've been interviewing, I've had one at 10 a.m. and the rest were in the afternoon. I was too tired for the 10 a.m. one and I bombed it. I just haven't been able to get to bed early, even before an interview, it sucks. The second slot is 11, which is the same time that I interviewed with him last time, so it should be good, as far as that goes.

I know 2 interviews isn't long, but 7 months?? are you in school, or have you not been working?
