2nd HD not being detected in windows, HELP!

just bought a Segate 80gig HD that im going to use as a second drive just for formatting purposes. i plugged the drive into the #2 sata port, and enabled the drive in bios.
i restarted windows and it did not appear in My Computer but it did appear in device manager.
any ideas?

my primary drive is a 200 gig maxtor and my mobo is a dfi lan party NF4.
 
start > run > compmgmt.msc > disk management > right click the new drive at the bottom and initialize (if needed) and then create a new partition & format it.
