2nd Hardrive slows down my computer

Why is it that once I add on 2 more hardrives I see my computer running noticebly slower? My internet explore takes longer to load and when I open my computer it takes couple seconds. I am running Pentium 4 2.8ghz , 1 gb ram.

Did you make sure the jumper was in the right position? your computer may have problems detecting them if the jumper is not in the right position. Are they on the same IDE channel?

they are in the same IDE channel. They load fine but i notice some slowing down speeds
