I have no idea.

Ok I have an idea now:

Performance
Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 4.3 liters
Base Engine Type: V6 Horsepower: 190 hp
Max Horsepower: 4400 rpm Torque: 250 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 2800 rpm Maximum Towing Capacity: 5000 lbs.
Drive Type: AWD Turning Circle: 39.5 ft.

190 hp, my bad. I don't really even know what torque means, in relation to cars. I'm pretty stupid, car-wise. 😱

We get the Yaris/Vitz in Canada, but its called hte Echo Hatchback over here.

And its selling like hotcakes.

I personally despise the thing. It's fvckin' tiny. Probably got a half-star crash rating all around. I sure didn't feel safe at all during the test-drive.

that's not too bad then.

torque is thrust. push. that 'snap yor head' feeling you get when you hit the gas pedal.

I see. 🙂

so, is 250 good? is it a matter of good/bad? Less torque=less of a "snap"?

more is good, but more also consumes more gas. since torque is what gets your vehicle moving, the heavier the car, the more torque you need. especially if you're towing something.

I'd love a big engined car but dam petrol is pricey in England!

The car gets 50mpg which makes a lot of sense for a little run about.

lol @ 0-60mph time of 13.6seconds.

For its size its safe..

I personally like the car. I think it woudl be an awesome autocrosser, and I like the small size. Very light and tossable. I believe the base model only weighs in at a wafty 1950lbs or something like that. Slap on a TRD FI kit and your blazing.

probably half the cars in scotland were that size, when i went there. lot's of yaris's and similar cars from other manufacturers. and they drive them like bats out of hell. a Honda CRX is probably even smaller, and i've never felt unsafe in one of those. grow a pair.

Torque is power.

Horsepower is an arbitrary number derrived from Torque.

HP = Torque * RPM / 5252

The torque curve of your engine is what really matters, not maximum torque.

When the peak torque occours in the lower 1/2 of the RPM range, that's when you really feel the power.

Generally, you only get this with V6's and V8s... High revving engines of the Honda type tend to develop peak torque in the upper RPM ranges.

There are acceptions, of course.
