2nd DIMM slot on the Asus K7V

my HS is blocking the first memory slot, is it ok to install a crucial pc-133, CAS 2 stick into the 2nd slot? I've heard rumors of the system not being stable if I do that - is that true?

I haven't heard these rumors, but I doubt they are true. It is my understanding that you can install them in any order/and slots you like on modern motherboards. Makes sense to me since they all share common wiring.

I was looking at my K7V and I couldn't find any labels anywhere indicating a Dimm1 or anything like that. I also counldn't find any info regarding the matter in the manual. I'd say it doesn't matter.

DIMM 1 is the slow closest to the cpu. I think I heard that rumor from a hardware site.
