Here is the problem; I have both my CPU's (PIII 700E's) running at 933. I have my first CPU's voltage set at 1.75v, and the 2nd CPU set at 1.7v. Now I don't know this for sure, but does UT utilize the 2nd CPU? Or does it just ignore it? The reason is because I can play UT, for hours, and not a single crash. Though this is not the case for Q3, Q3 will crash after 20 minutes of game play, and I know Q3 supports dual CPU's, which I believe makes it utilize the 2nd CPU during game play. If this is the case, could it be my 2nd CPU is crashing, thus taking down CPU number 1 with it?

Thanks.

Q3 doesn't use both CPU's unless you tell it to with a "smp=1" command line.

Yes, "r_smp "1"" right? That's what I had it set to, but I wonder why Q3 will crash but UT wont.

Ya, my syntax is incorrect for the smp command. Yours looks better. :)

Personally I never had good luck with the smp setting. I actually got a performance LOSS and instability.

You could try it with the smp off?

Well...it's not crashing now, may have been video card? I turned off 4X FSAA, and now it's not crashing? Hmm.....

In Win2k, you can specify which CPU you want the application to load on. I don't remember the exact command, but try loading UT on CPU 0 and then on CPU 1, see if the stability is any different...
