Ok this is getting kinda ridulous. I ordered an Epox 8k3a+ motherboard, it was the only thing in my order for my system that was retail boxed, it was DOA. So I went through the RMA process, and got a new board and all, and thats working. Great. Now, I ordered some Chaintech micro ATX board for my gf's computer I'm building, and it is also DOA! Grr....I know its not newegg's fault, but this is freakin ridiculous, and they make me pay for the shipping to send it back to them!

Its the manufacturer's fault and you just got unlucky twice.

Getting parts that dont work out of the box is just something that happens, and unlike a B&M store where you just go up there and exchange it out, you have to pay shipping to send it back to a website. Personally, I think the chances are low, and its worth the price difference (and selection difference).

You get what you pay for most of the time but I haven't had too much trouble with ECS boards, like 1 dead out of 8.

well, think of it this way. at least Newegg is a good reliable vendor that will RMA your board quick enough. i know many online vendors take more than a week to just give you a RMA number.

anyway, i haven't had a single issue with Newegg yet.

Paying shipping back to Newegg is a rather bothersome

What really bothers me though is how Newegg doesn't refund your shipping when you first bought the product. Say you buy a monitor that costs $200 + $40 shipping. If it's bad you have to pay to send it back PLUS you're out the $40 it cost to send it to you. Granted, it's not Newegg's fault, but it's not your fault either, so why should you have to pay?

Oh well, just a rant.

I have gotten a total of 3 dead mainboards. All 3 were from CompGeeks. I no longer shop there.

I had a 1600+ AMD die on me that I got from Newegg, and they RMA'ed it for me. Waiting was a b!tch though. A week? Come on. Good company, great prices, but the wait is annoying. I had to buy another for a customer, rather than wait. Oh well.
