I was wondering if the people on this forum are pro 2nd Amendment rights?

Also do you think it is right for people to openly carry a gun in public? As long as they are abiding by all the laws?

Some people here support the rights this nation was built upon, others feel the need to persecute those who enjoy the freedoms given to us by the founding fathers. Everyone knows this.

The problem is that the writers of the Constitution knew this as a gun:

And had no idea this would turn out to be a gun:

I'm certainly pro 2nd amendment, but I do believe there should be a limit to "open" carry. I mean, at some point people who are already unnecessarily paranoid become more... well... liberal?

To be fair the 2nd amendment mentions "Militia" not ordinary citizens. :(
That said I'm for ordinary individuals right to own gun... assuming that can pass some test showing they aren't idiots, and that they aren't violent criminals.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

You need to learn how to read.

Naw, it's how it's stated those people are to be part of the militia.

It should be legal to open carry in every state I can't believe that Texas is not open carry, and places in CA with under 200,000 people it is legal to open carry (without the gun being loaded) that is the dumbest thing to not be able to open carry loaded we should be able to open carry with a bullet in the chamber.

Learn to read much... I already said I'm for people owning guns as long as their not idiots or violent criminals...

I'm only stating that that with how it was written it implies that those people were to be part of the militia, as thus able to be called on in time of war.

No, it does not. The Supreme Court also says it does not.

I guess you shouldn't own a gun since you're an idiot. :awe:

A well regulated Windmill association, being necessary to the security of a cheap power, the right of the people to keep and bear windmills, shall not be infringed.

Does this statement state that individuals must be part of a windmill association in order to own a windmill? I await your reply
