2ms response time is it all bs?

I have a 2ms Asus and a 5ms Dell and I can notice a very minor difference in the blur you get with all LCD's, Asus being slightly better. But since it still exists it doesn't make a meaningful difference to me.

I think the Asus gets the 2ms by having a jacked up LCD Overdrive setting btw. There's suppose to be some downside to using aggressive overdrive but I don't remember what it is.

i'm sure xbit-labs has tested/done articles on this.
yes its bs, different colors and stuff have different response times.

XbitLabs is the place for hardcore LCD reviews. highly technical, i barely understand a third of all the graphs there with all my knowledge in electronics.

in principal, there are several tests you can do to take response time. the most common one is GtG (Gray to Gray) because its the fastest, btu its not the most important one!
the advertised number is the fastest one they can find without blatantly lying 😉

They always list the response time for the panel but just as important is latency for the time it takes the displays processor to convert the video signal and apply the changes. I guarantee that adds a few ms unless someone has invented faster than light electronics.

Input lag is what you are talking about, few sites publish these results, but they are much more important than response time for gaming. Some popular panels that have been rated at 2 or 5ms response time have another 30ms of input lag on top of that.

Nope it's not bs, it is true. On the newer LCD displays

Now give us 120hz 1920x200 .. good luck:twisted:

I think someone (modelworks? IDC? forgot who) actually wanted a modular display akin to that for toolbars and such 🙂

Yep I would love for them to make smaller displays more available. Instead of having to use a full size monitor, little ones that you can place wherever and use for dedicated task would be great . Especially something like small touchscreens that could be programmed to whatever the user needs.

They exist but the prices are very high. $250 for a 7" display
