2k3 server vs xp pro

i've lost my xp cd and i feel the urge to reinstall, i do have windows 2003 server cd, i mostly play games, any thoughts? this is a 32bit

I've been running 2k3 since sp1 came out.. no probs.... i play games and everything else.. finding a a.v and firewall was tough.

2k3 SP1 has the MS firewall built in that you can pair up with any hardware based firewall on the market

Not if you don't enable all of the extra services. Of course, little argument can be made for choosing 2k3 over XP for desktop use, but if 2k3 is all that you have, then there's not really much reason not to use it, I suppose. The RAM usage has got to beat Vista by an order of magnitude, after all. ;)

CA's eTrust (NOT their "EZ" product....) is cheap and designed to work on Windows Servers, as well as desktop PCs. I've purchased it for $120 in five-packs and I'm getting "lifetime" free AV updates.

most of the services are on both

i've rolled plenty of servers and comparing to my PC's the RAM usage is about the same unless you start installing DNS or AD
