Thanks! Needed a cheap USB drive to serve as a boot device (Acronis, BIOS updates, etc.)

Yeah these are really handy for loading a Linux live CD, diagnostic utilities, etc. on. Can never have too many USB sticks around, I even find uses for smaller ones like this.

In for one, thanks Zap. :)

Yep I did the same thing.

ive since read reviews of the drive enclosure connecting to windows fine, but would give errors during file transfers (exactly why i hate cheap enclosures). but well see... for the price its cheaper then a mcdonalds breakfast so who cares.

Alone worth the price of the case to me... :)

Good deal, but this thing is SLOW.

Created a bootable Knoppix drive with mine, and it locks up for a few seconds every time it tries to load something.

I tested mine using H2testw and found several bad sectors. Mine formats to 1.53gb. Not worth it to exchange it and only wanted it for a rescue/boot drive anyway.

Mine shows up as 1.63GB with no bad sectors. Runs at class 4 speeds so I can't complain. Average of 4.4mb/s write and 11.9mb/s read.

Mine shows up as 1.55GB, haven't scanned for bad sectors or anything, don't even care. For $3 I wasn't expecting much, as long as it works I'm happy. :D

Used it just last night to boot Ubuntu and dd a hard drive on a machine I'm selling.
