yep. the number of ram chips used puts more pressure on the MCC (memory controller chip). if you can get the same amount of memory out of two chips as apposed to 4, the MCC doesn't have to switch between chips as often. so speed wise, yes, it will make a difference.

How much total ram do you want 2gb or 4gb. generally it will be a little more expensive to get 2 x 1gig then 4 x 512mb.... Up to you


Then again their are some people out there that say it is faster to have smaller modules then larger modules but I have yet to notice a difference
