The OCZ has timings of 2-3-2-5 at 200mhz (I have it and can't OC for anything when keeping these timings).

Am considering buying 2x1 GB Ballistix and having them run at 255mhz but with timings of 3-3-3-8 .

Both memories are at 1T. I was thinking, would I see any performance gain with the ballistix (slower timings, but faster bus...) Can someone provide an approximate perfectage (ie 5%)

Silly question, but have you tried more voltage and running your DDR400's at 255Mhz at 3-3-3-8? just seemed the obvious step to me... Of course luck soon ensues...

Yeah, unfortunately, no matter what I do, I can't get the current OCZ ram above 220mhz.... GOOD QUESTION THOUGH....:)

Wow, that sucks (platinum my @55) :) I got all 3 set of my Corsair DD400 XMS and XMSPro's over 240 at 2.85 volts or a little more... DOH... Well, it all depends on what you want out of your system. But truthfully, you wont gain too much with DDR500+. You're already using 2GB which is where you want to be and if you can get the OCZ to 1T and those timings at 220, I wouldnt worry about trying to squeeze out that extra bit... Save your money for bigger/better hard drives, etc... The difference in real world will be negligible... Maybe even some watercooling to get the chip up a little higher, who knows...

So true, in gaming, I found my best performance came out of my DDR400 XMSPro's at the tightest timings and highest HTT. Even though I own DDR550 Corsair XMS memory...
