Thats about right. I had three 6950s. Two could do 900mhz at 1.1v and the other could do a hair less. I just left the memory at 1325. I never tried for more since you wont always see errors for GDDR5 clocked too high, sometimes it will just hurt performace and the gains aren't all that large from memory overclocking anyways.

Yeah, downclocking the mem should let you raise the core further, which will probably help you more (but don't go overboard, there needs to be some kind of core/mem balance).

I have the 1gb non-ref model, at 1.1 I can hit 875, at 1.250v it is stable at 1ghz but the heat starts to reach the 90s. 1.2 does 950 fine which is where I am keeping it at now, since even at stock these cards are overkill for most any game out there now. Seems like you have a better card for OC than I do.

My memory is at 1300 atm btw, I have heard that its possible to damage 6950s by clocking the mem to high so Im not bothering with it much yet [if that is true or not though idk].

someone mentioned that even at stock speeds the 6950 has enough muscle for most/all games currently out- and I would tend to agree. However, I'm oc'ing my 6950 for it to work on some mining. I'm lucky, as it turns out, because my 6950 can readily be flashed to a 6970.

Currently, I'm running @ 90% load w/ 906/1348 (5392eff)/1.05V

I think the general prudence when applying OC to memory applies to any card with GDDR5. MY previous card, a 1GB 4870 was one of the first to use GDDR5, and I remember the posts of people frying the memory. I think the clocks are more prone to damage the ICs of RAM because any change to the base clock is heightened by the quad-pumped effective frequencies of GDDR5

985/1385 1.3v +20% Unlocked shaders

fan at 64% (will increase with temps beyond this if needed)

Temps float around 70
