thanks Harvey. My dad has been wanting more ram for his laptop; so i will get these for him for x-mas. I should have bought them yesterday with newegg 15% and live 2.75% for even greater savings, oh well. still cheap. When i upgraded my laptop ram; think I paid 25-30 for 2 gigs.

The generation of laptops that came with 2 x 512 MB sticks in two RAM slots and max out at 2 GB really benefits from this. Unless your machine has separate dedicated video RAM, most laptops use system RAM for the video, leaving less for apps, which really sped up my Compaq lappy. Of course, so did stripping out Vista and installing XP. :)

And getting it for $16 leaves a lot more green for gifting apps. :gift:

It's a killer deal and well worth it as pointed out, but I'm already running 4gb :D.

Thanks Harvey... A great deal, indeed! I just got this same set on BF from Fry's for $15 after a $35 rebate. BTW, I can confirm my sticks have Micron chips.

In for 1, also ordered a 120GB drive for the wife's laptop as well. Not a bad set of upgrades for 75$!

Anyone know if these are programmed in the SPD for cas4 operation at ddr2-533? I bought these to replace ddr2-533 cas4 modules. I figured if they're ddr2-667 cas5 modules they have a good shot at working. Can anyone cpu-z them and look at spd for me?

btw... they're at $15 FS right now, no code necessary.

Interesting... Looks like I got one of the last sets. It was just handed off by dhl to the usps... Should be here soon.

Newegg was really cool to me -- I bought 'em for $16.99 a few days ago, and today I check and see they're $14.99. So I email cust serv and tell them about it and that it's a lower price and I haven't even received them yet. So they answer right away, that it's not their policy to pricematch, but as a courtesy they're going to credit me the $2. Pretty sweet! Way to go, newegg.

In case anyone's wondering, I got them delivered and they work perfectly in my ibm t43 thinkpad, at ddr2-533 cas4 (4-4-4-12) in dual channel mode. The SPD info is actually blanked out in both cpu-z and everest home.
