2d screen blanks for a second on 260GTX

For some reason my monitor goes black for a second every once in awhile. This started after I installed my 260GTX. I did do a driver clean during the transition so it shouldn't be a driver issue. This is the machine in my sig and I think my PSU is delivering enough power. Any ideas on what I should do?

Vista64. I will probably try the drivers that were released today. I didn't have this problem with my 8800GTS which was swapped out for the GTX so I doubt its the monitor.

My PC does it from time to time too... at least it did while I had the 8800gt in there. I just swapped it for a 4830 last night, so I'm not sure if I'm still having the issue..

A little bothersome, but not a huge deal IMO

I wouldn't rule out the PSU if you didn't have the same problem with the same monitor in the past with a different video card. I had a similar issue with 2 Dell monitors when I first got my GTS 640MB. Eventually returned them both due to the flicker with certain on-screen effects, among other issues and never saw similar problems with my current Gateway or my older Dell 19".

The PSU is showing 12.49 on the 12 volt line via software monitoring but I don't know how reliable that is. Its possible its the PSU.

Silly question, but have you checked to make sure the cable is hooked up solidly? Also, does the display just blink or does the monitor specifically state that it has lost signal (most LCDs will do this)?

It just happened again after I updated to the latest drivers today. The screen went black for about 2 seconds and then came back on. The monitor itself did not saying anyhting about power saving, digital/analog or such so I don't think it lost the signal.

Well since starting this I have RMA'd the video card, swapped out the motherboard and the PSU. It hadn't happened for the last few weeks (that we had noticed) but it just happened. Is it possible that it is a windows/driver problem?

I have this exact same issue on my secondary LCD (2707wfp). I just assumed it was the LCD itself failing and planned to contact Dell about a replacement. I'd be interested in hearing if you find a solution.

What do you have for a video card and system?

Well I was having the problems initially on a P35 system and now on my P45. I need to RMA my monitor to see if that fixes it.
