2D perfromance on Radeon 8500 - Anybody?

The ATI website mentions NOT ONE WORD about it's 2D perfromance.

Let's face it, 2D is extremely important - Flat 3D Art, Word/Excel/Internet/Email and more...all are done in 2D.

Comparable to Matrox?
 
2D performance or quality has never been a problem with ATI cards actually, look at the specs:165 MHz TMDS for up to UXGA (1600x1200) resolution for digital flat panels and 400mhz RAMDAC's are pretty good indications that what was great before, will be even better.

We should know soon.


 
2D quality is in general very good on ATi cards,the only main problem is their drivers.
