Hello, I am running windows 2000 sp3 and have a Samsung 700NF monitor w/ a MSI ti4400. I was running nvidia driver 29.42 but decided to upgrade to driver 41.09 . Everything went great EXCEPT my desktop appears almost "fuzzy". I had gotten to the point where I could run in 1280*960@85hz on my 17" screen without hurting my eyes after prolonged use (this is a great monitor!). But after the driver upgrade running @1280*960@85hz really causes eyestrain and I can only look at my monitor for 5~10 minutes before by eyes feel like they are "burning".

Does anyone know what might be deal here? I appreciate all replies even if it is a bump. :)

I would try the det 30's, there tried and true. See if that won't fix your problem, if not go back to the 20's unless you just had an issue with them.

The 41.09 killed the base image quality to get better benchmarks. Try the 30.82's or better yet, the Omega 1.1.82.

First double check you`re at 85Hz and not 60Hz,I know when I upgrade my Nvidia drivers it always goes to the default 60Hz,driver image quality does vary between drivers, the 30.82 ones are very good,I`m using the WHQL 40.72 drivers and they are fine for me,it`s always best to remove old drivers first when upgrading to newer ones.

I thank all for the input. I ended up downgrading to the 29.42 . What I did was install softwqudro4 on the 41.09 because they are the latest nvidia "recommended drivers". I ended up just softquadro'ing the 29.42 set and reinstalling them. So for the current moment I am using a "Quadro4 750Xgl" on the 29.42 set. I really like being able to use the maxtreme driver in 3dstudio, so I quadro'ed my card and truthfully I am pleased with the results.

Thanks again for the info.

BTW: I know the quadro4 is "technically" different than the GF4, but take a look at the article here: SoftQuadro
