Hello all! I'm having a terrible time with my XFX 295x2. My system will crash under heavy gaming and i've noticed when mining I'm having some serious thermal throttling issues. Both GPUs are pinned at 74-75c and my core clocks are at 300 and 850. Does anyone know whats going on? Maybe a pump failure, or is this an issue with just needing to turn the throttling temp threshold up a bit? I can't seem to do that anywhere. AMD's software doesn't let me go above 75. I've also noticed the fan on my radiator doesn't really seem to change speed as the temp goes up. HELP! Thank you

Are the voltages correct? Try undervolting? Is the fan spinning fast or slow? Not sure how to check the AIO on those :(

Just pulled AnandTech's review of the card. Seems theirs ran at 71c when it was new.

Interesting point by Ryan.

"It is however important to keep in mind that the 295X2 has a relatively low 75C temperature throttle. So although we’re not throttling under this test (sustaining 1018MHz throughout), we’re only 4C off from reaching that point. Measuring the 120mm fan on the CLLC finds that the fan is operating at its full speed, so the CLLC is operating very close to its own limits, too."

I doubt it's one of the pumps since the temps isn't much over stock. Could be the radiator needs to be cleaned, TIM needs to be reapplied, ambient temps too high, or VRMs could be overheating causing the GPUs to throttle.

If you're getting 75°C with the GPU clocks at 850MHz and 300MHz, chances are the pump is dead or on its last legs. You can try replacing the fan and tying it direct to 12V, but unless it's not even spinning you shouldn't see those temps at those clocks.

First check to see if radiator is clean, if not clean it and the card out with compressed air. Check to see if pump is working. Then check thermal paste application.

THEN sell on ebay for 900$, buy a 1080ti, win.
