2900xt vs 8800gts confusing benchmark differences??

How come on some sites the 2900xt out performs the 8800gts 640 on game benchmark tests and on different sites its the opposite? Wouldnt there be a clear cut answer?

no

Some of the benches are run without AA where the Radeon 'wins' ... at higher resolutions and with especially AA, the GeForce pulls ahead

Some games just run better on the GeForce .. other are favored by the Radeon

you pays your money and you takes your chances
-imo, they are more-or-less equivalent cards

No AA on the UT3 benches, since right now, you need to use workarounds to make it work.

That's why the HD 2900 XT does so well.

Turn on AA, & well, we all know what happens.

But that being said, i'm not sure how they did it, but with UT3, i just don't notice the jaggies.

So i don't mind no AA in it; would rather have the extra performance.

And normally, i never play anything w/o AA.

See, not all is bad for the 2900
